From 2008 to 2014 I worked on Microsoft Dynamics digital experiences through Xtreme Consulting Group.

Microsoft Dynamics talked to a lot of different people. Prospects, customers, partners, community members and event attendees. Each group had its own site, its own technology and its own reasons for showing up.
The challenge was keeping all of that usable and consistent while the platforms kept changing underneath it.
The work
The work
I led UX design for the Microsoft Dynamics marketing site and related web and mobile work. I redesigned responsive patterns for Dynamics Community.
I worked on the PartnerSource and CustomerSource portals as they moved to SharePoint 2013, and I was lead designer for the Microsoft Convergence event website and mobile experience.

The approach
The approach
Build frameworks and standards instead of one-off pages. Shared, responsive components meant each site didn't have to solve the same problem again.
Then make the handoff clean. I worked closely with developers and business groups so designs could actually be built the way they were intended.
What it enabled
What it enabled
Teams had reusable responsive components and clearer portal experiences to build on, across several audiences and platforms.
It was also where I learned how much good design depends on the people building it and the business decisions around it.
